N-ε-Maleimidocaproyl oxysuccinimide ester

(EMCS)

Primetech LLC launches a new heterobifunctional crosslinker, N-ε-maleimidocaproyl oxysuccinimide ester (EMCS), which contains an NHS ester on one end and a maleimide group on the other one. The molecule contains a linear 6-carbon spacer, resulting in 9,4 Å crosslinks between biomolecules.

NHS ester couples with primary amines at pH 7-9, producing stable amide bonds
Maleimides react to thiol groups at pH 6.5-7.5, forming thioether linkages
Non-cleavable, soluble in DMSO, DMF
Aliphatic spacer has low potential for eliciting an immune response
