Nucleoside Triphosphate 8-Azide-dUTP is a 2'-deoxyuridine triphosphate modified at the C-5 position of the pyrimidine ring. The modifying fragment contains the terminal azide group attached to the nitrogen-containing base through the 8-atom linker by a C–C triple bond.
8-Azide-dUTP is used for enzymatic incorporation of nucleosides with terminal azide groups into DNA. The obtained modified DNA can be further functionalized via click reaction with alkyne-functionalized label.
