Description

MitoLumina 780 is a cell-permeant carbocyanine fluorescent dye specifically designed for labeling active mitochondria in live cells. It contains a mildly thiol-reactive chloromethyl group that allows it to covalently bind to mitochondrial proteins, ensuring retention even after cell fixation and permeabilization.

With excitation and emission maxima at approximately 780 and 810 nm respectively, it emits in the far red spectrum, making it ideal for multicolor fluorescence imaging alongside other probes.

MitoLumina 780 belongs to the same class of mitochondria stains as MitoTracker Deep Red FM, but has excitation and emission maxima shifted into far red region. It can be applied in cell biology, neuroscience, and cancer research to visualize mitochondrial morphology, distribution, and dynamics.
