Description

MitoLumina 680 is a cell-permeant carbocyanine fluorescent dye specifically designed for labeling active mitochondria in live cells. It contains a mildly thiol-reactive chloromethyl group that allows it to covalently bind to mitochondrial proteins, ensuring retention even after cell fixation and permeabilization.

With excitation and emission maxima at approximately 680 and 703 nm respectively, it emits in the red spectrum, making it ideal for multicolor fluorescence imaging alongside other probes.

MitoLumina 680 belongs to the same class of mitochondria stains as MitoTracker Deep Red FM but has slightly shifted excitation and emission maxima. It can be applied in cell biology, neuroscience, and cancer research to visualize mitochondrial morphology, distribution, and dynamics.
